Coaching Applications for the 2010-11 Season are requested to be submitted according to the following schedule.  The application form is posted under the Coaches Corner section in PDF and Word format and can be either e-mailed or U.S. mailed by the deadlines shown on the application.  Teams for the 2010-11 season will be determined by the coaches that apply for specific B division teams and specific Travel teams.

Travel head coaching applications are due by February 5th, 2010.

B head coaching applications are due by April 9th, 2010.

The GLAHA Girls Hockey Club presents womens & girls hockey events.  Click on the attached document for information.

The GLAHA Board is pleased to announce a new charitable outreach program in conjunction with a local charity.  This year GLAHA has chosen to partner with Habitat for Humanity.   HOCKEY FOR HOPE has been created as a venue for GLAHA players and families to give back to our local community.

     Hockey is the greatest sport on earth and our children are fortunate to have parents willing and able to make the sacrifices needed to play this game.  As you may be aware, many GLAHA teams have traditionally passed the “jar” among parents and fans in the stands in the event of a goal, save, or just a great play. Funds collected have been used for team functions and other related costs.  Beginning with this 2009-2010 season, all GLAHA team managers will be provided with a Board approved  “goal jar” with the HOCKEY FOR HOPE logo attached.  HOCKEY FOR HOPE organizers hope that our teams will now embrace this program in a new way, and use the funds to support the less fortunate in our local community. The accumulated funds from participating GLAHA teams will be collected at the end of the season and be dedicated to the Habitat For Humanity Lansing affiliate build program.  It is the intent of HOCKEY FOR HOPE supporters to also involve GLAHA players and families in a build or remodel project in the spring of 2010 and teach our players the importance of helping those in need and encourage community involvement.

     Please support your GLAHA Board in this inaugural effort.  Help promote GLAHA to other youth hockey associations throughout this great state and nation and most importantly, help our children understand the importance of giving back to our local community.  The lessons our children learn off the ice can be as important as what they learn on the ice.

GLAHA Cards are available for sale.  E-mail prescott@acd.net to order your cards.  Buy them for $4, sell them for $10.  Include your skater's name, your team, and how many cards you want.  Your skater's individual account will be billed, or you can pay with cash or check when you pick them up at the rink in your respective team's mailbox, or you can pay through PayPal on this site at the payments section.

GLAHA and Suburban Ice East Lansing are proud to announce a Lansing Capitals Girls Program for the 2009-10 season.

Aged 10 and under girls will play in the Mite house program and be registered as a girls team so that they can play in girls tournaments.

Aged 12 and under girls will play in the Squirt house program and be registered as a girls team so that they can play in girls tournaments.

We are confident there will be a girls program/team and ice has been contracted for 10U and 12U teams..

Girls wanting to play hockey are encouraged to bring their friends - the girls can play on the same team with their friends.  Suburban Ice East Lansing has Girls Only drop-in skating and hockey programs available.  Log into the www.suburbanice.com website and click on the East Lansing site or call Suburban Ice East Lansing at 517-336-4272.
